Oct 5 update

Been tinkering away with the game now and then and have now posted an up to date versions.

some better graphics, engine smoke, and option/settings (that don't save yet).

Note that the squads option will glitch unless you have entered a zone. Still needs some tweaking and work.

No AI in zone 200 atm, and the bases don't shoot in zone 400.

Cool update :)

One problem that I've come into is without any haulers or without the benefit of a ship with a large cargo space its pretty much next to impossible to make enough money to buy any ship components.

Yeah, I can see what you mean.
Haven't overly looked at economy yet, been focussing on getting some sort of playable engine.
Few more tweaks and I can start dabbling at some new ships, and combat missions.

Oh, I noticed in Zone 400 if you switch to the hornet you still see yourself as the scout (but with 4 hardpoints) and I still think there should be an option to fly via mouse because the keyboard doesn't offer enough entropy to allow precision movement.

Under chrome it only works when the window is fullscreen :-|

The mouse pointer script did work for me when I was not in full screen, had to give it permission.

At the moment I'm going to continue with just keyboard control until the game gets a bit more complete.

I plan to add joypad control, so at the same time mouse control movement would be put in. The code for different rotation speeds is in place, I just need to code in the control / input method from the player. (It'll also allow tablet play by rotating the tablet at different angles for different rotation speeds.)
