Rough Ship Builder put in place

Postby kyled » Thu Sep 10, 2015 5:17 am

The ship builder is put in with just a hull and a wing, but you can paint it.

There is a glitch with chrome in which black spots will appear on the model, you need to go to full screen mode before customizing the ship. (also think you can customize empty slots, but this will be removed)

So when you enter there program the top left buttons
Model - put you in modelling mode, press an item / part of the ship to select and rotate it (rotation in radians for now)
Paint.- you need to select a model piece first, then you can pain it
Save - saves the model
Exit, exits, but will not save it, it goes by your last save.

when modelling, you can click the model, press and hold an axis (X Y Z) and the mouse down and move it along that axis.

When you save, it takes 20 seconds or so to save and will just sorta freeze up for now

Currently won't work under firefox

It's odd to use, but I had a bit of fun. The shapes are basic, but you can still do a lot with the sizing stuff.

How exactly does the rotation increment? 300 seems to equal 90 degrees, or possibly 270.
Also, having a small marker showing the center of the mesh would be very helpful for positioning.

I made a big dreadnought of an interceptor, was fun.

The angle is is in radians right now, not in degrees, so 3.14 is half, 6.18 is a full rotation.

Yeah, I just have two items for testing, glad to see its enjoyable to use.
